We have a few updates from UHS this week:
Travel Orders Reminder
Effective August 1, 2020, all visitors and returning residents entering Massachusetts must follow new travel orders. The Commonwealth has made great progress to slow the spread of COVID-19 and gradually re-open the economy, and all visitors have a responsibility to help us keep transmission levels as low as possible.
All visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet an exemption, are required to:
- Complete the Massachusetts Travel Form prior to arrival
- Quarantine for 10 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts. If not obtained before entry to Massachusetts, a test may be obtained after arrival. However, all such arriving travelers must immediately begin the 10-day quarantine until a negative test result has been received. Failure to comply may result in a $500 fine per day.
- Please find more information below, including the list of lower-risk states, exemptions, business guidance and other details.
Food Drive
Our Independence Project classes are working on a Food Drive to benefit our community food pantry. After three days, the class has collected 100 pounds of food/personal care items, which is an awesome contribution so far!
Our goal is to get as close to 500 pounds of supplies to donate at the end of the month. Having said that, we will lose a week due to School Vacation. Any amount of food or personal care products is greatly appreciated. Non perishable item only please.
If you have any questions please contact the Independence Project at jatkinson@uxbridge.k12.ma.us or shirtle@uxbridge.k12.ma.us.
Course Selection for 2021-22
We will be starting the course selection process in the coming weeks. Right now, the focus from teachers will be on making recommendations for core classes for next year, as we are still awaiting final approval of the Program of Studies from the School Committee. We will have our counselors conference with students in March. Most of these conferences and the process will occur virtually, so we do not compromise class time, particularly where student time in the building is limited.
We will be holding some virtual course selection nights, as well as some in-person conferences as needed. Those dates are forthcoming. If you have specific questions, let us know.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
We have a parent-teacher conference afternoon scheduled for Friday, February 26. We will be holding these all as virtual conferences. The links to sign up for individual teachers will be shared soon, either next week or on the Monday following the holiday break. If the February 26 date is not convenient, we will work with families to schedule individual conferences as requested.
Fall-Two Registration
Fall-two sports registration is open on FamilyID. We will have more information on start dates and schedules being shared next week.
Have a great weekend!
