Weekly News and Notes

Some updates from UHS this week:

Assessment Update

We finished up advanced placement testing this week, and we certainly appreciate the hard work of the students and teachers from those classes. The ever-changing standards of college for testing make it difficult for teachers and students to adapt, but we are confident in their perseverance, their ability to articulate, and their willingness to accept the challenges, and we certainly hope that the results match their Collective efforts.

Next week, our sophomores will take the mathematics MCAS exam. Test days are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, so we appreciate the students getting some rest, having breakfast in the morning, and showing up with the mindset of being able to tackle the challenges of the test, for which we know their Educators have prepared them well, throughout their time and not just in grade 10. Of course, they have the whole school day with which to work, and we asked them to take their time and answer questions thoroughly.

Athletics Banquet, Senior Events

We look forward to seeing many of you next week at Thursday's athletic banquet, which will start at 6:30 sharp. The doors will open at 6 at Wright's Farm.

Our senior events are linked here and will be emailed out separately as well to the Class of 2018.

School Photos Available Online (For Purchase)

Just a reminder that sports and school event photos are available for purchase through our photographer, as David Silverman Photography has posted pictures throughout the year. There are great shots of many of our students!

Finally, congratulations to our guidance team, for earning the Blackstone Valley Superintendent's Association promising practice award for 2018. It was our pleasure to present them with this award for their hard work in designing a curriculum that has become a model for many other schools in the state in a very short time.
