Weekly News and Notes

A few updates from UHS this week:

Senior Exams and Obligations

Our Senior Exam schedule is posted here.  We again ask all seniors to make sure that they are in touch with teachers about any other responsibilities that can come up at the end of the term so that there are not any/many surprises.  Also, we will be sharing senior obligations within the next couple of weeks; particularly, if students could resolve debts with the cafeteria, that would be appreciated.

Athletics Banquet

The athletics banquet will be held at Wright's Farm Restaurant in Harrisville, Rhode Island on Thursday, May 24, beginning at 6:30 p.m. sharp. The doors will open at 6. Ticket prices are $10 for student-athletes and $20 for any guests. Tickets are available from Ms. Wise in the main office or the athletic director.

Last Day of School

The last day of school will be Monday, June 25. We sent the final exam schedule earlier this week. If any student requires a rescheduled exam due to the number of snow days, s/he should contact the assistant principal or principal. Individual arrangements should not be made with teachers.

Grade 7 and 8 visits

Earlier this week, we hosted both the grade 8 and grade 7 students at UHS, who toured the building, had a short presentation, and had an opportunity to ask questions of some upperclassmen. As we prepare for the final stages of our reconfiguration, we feel as though all steps are in order and that we should have a fairly smooth transition for the underclassmen.
We did hold a principal's coffee this week for grade 7 and 8 parents, which was admittedly not well attended. Consequently, we do not plan on holding another one. If any grade 7 or 8 parent has specific questions, feel free to send us an email or to schedule an appointment.

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!
