Weekly News and Notes

With midyear exams behind us, we turn our attention to second semester. A few updates:
1. Report cards for the second quarter will be distributed within the next week, available via iPass. If you have concerns about a graduation requirement or a half-year course that may not have been passed, or a course for which a student is in danger of failing, please contact your child's counselor, so that we can make appropriate plans and supports for your student.
2. We will be meeting with the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades very soon to begin planning for next year, as our scheduling process will commence right around the February vacation. There will be some revisions to the Program of Studies, and we anticipate presenting those to our School Council at our January meeting, scheduled for January 31.
3. Attendance at our winter events has been great - we hope everyone is able to join us at some basketball or winter track as the season comes to a close soon.
4. Just a reminder - senior baby pictures are due Monday! Email the Yearbook (yearbook2017@uxbridge.k12.ma.us).
Our full January newsletter will be distributed next week, so be on the lookout.
Have a great weekend,

Michael Rubin, Principal
Uxbridge High School

Winter Track Champs!

It was an exciting night in the Northbridge field house last night, as both the boys and girls track teams defeated Bartlett and Auburn en route to clinching the 2016-17 SWCL winter track championships, both teams finishing with perfect records! Both meets came down to the final event, the 4x400 relay, with boys anchor Corey Moss and girls anchor Maddie Schleinitz taking the races home for the relays!

Congratulations to both teams on the titles!

School Closed, January 13

With the full-day off on January 13, the school building will be closed and off limits, due to safety training taking place at UHS. When students leave on January 12, they should have anything they need for the 13th, and the building will not be accessible to outsiders until after 2:00.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Foreign Travel Opportunity

Parents/Guardians:

During April Break 2018, the school is hoping to sponsor a trip for 10 days to Ecuador, through the rainforest! While there we will sightsee, explore and work within the Ecuadorian community. It is an amazing experience, and we hope you will considering joining.

There will be a parent meeting on January 25, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. that parents and students must attend if interested, as we are looking gauge interest before going through the steps of formal approval - so it is really important that we have a sense of who may be interested! The cost projects to be about $3550.00.

Please see the link for more details:

Feel free to email Ms. DeStafeno, who is coordinating, with any questions: adestafeno@uxbridge.k12.ma.us.

Thanks so much!
